I did not consider that this new sidewalk would cause me to retreat indoors due to the drilling, jackhammering, and pounding of heavy machinery. Our house sits way back from the road, but the noise is inescapable. I'm an auditory learner and highly sensitive to sound. I can handle visual distractions like a champ. But not noise distractions. The sounds coming from the road were so unpleasant and irritating that they overwhelmed my joy of being outside in the sunlight. I wonder if the noise will be this bad everyday. I sure hope not.
My spiderlings have slowly moved on to the next phase of their lives. For the last few days there would be a smaller and smaller cluster under the grass blade when I would come by to check them early in the morning. I imagine they chose an ideal time to balloon away a few at a time. The web is still there and the remains of little spiderlings that didn't survive those first few days.
I have noticed lots of babies over the last few days. Baby squirrels, bunnies, spiders. I have also noticed that the mosquitos have gotten quite bad. I miss those early summer days when it wasn't so buggy. Here is the little bun bun that hopped out to have a little snack this evening... and his momma!
What will he be one day?
